Texas Parks & Wildlife
The
Texas Annual Public Hunting Permit (APH) provides nearly year-round
hunting on approximately 1.2 million acres of land. Each year, Texas
Parks & Wildlife Department publishes maps of land open for
public hunting. The APH
Permit allows access to public hunting lands listed in this booklet.
Hunting is allowed for small game, turkey, white-tailed deer,
exotics, predators and furbearers without having to pay daily permit
fees. See our reviews of the TPWD
Public Hunting Lands.
Army Corps of Engineers
The
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District works in close
partnership with Texas Parks & Wildlife to provide hunting
opportunities on approximately 185,000 acres. Camping, fishing,
hunting, boating, and hiking are just the beginning of the
activities available in the parks and other public lands managed by
the Army Corps of Engineers. See our Reviews of the Corps
of Engineers Public Hunting Lands for more information.
